FAQ

The Double Nappy System

What is the Double Nappy System? The Double Nappy System comprises an aqua nappy, readily available at most supermarkets or chemists, such as Huggies. Additionally, a Happy Nappy is worn over the aqua nappy. The Happy Nappy can be purchased online through platforms like Amazon or Splash About. Alternatively, it’s available in select stores like Jo-Jo Maman Bebe and Boots.

Why is the Double Nappy System necessary for children under 3 years? For children under 3 years, it’s imperative to utilize the Double Nappy System during swimming lessons. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in the child being unable to swim, with little likelihood of a refund for the missed session. This rule applies universally to all children under 3, irrespective of potty training status. Strict adherence to this rule is enforced to uphold the health and safety standards of all participants.

Why is the Double Nappy System strictly enforced? Adhering to the Double Nappy System is crucial for preventing pool accidents, which could lead to closures ranging from an hour to 14 days. Such closures could severely disrupt our operations, affecting all participants and staff members alike. By enforcing this rule, we prioritize the safety and well-being of everyone involved.

What is the Homeportal system? Power Forever Swim’s Homeportal system offers a convenient platform for clients to monitor their child’s progress throughout the term. Clients can also seamlessly rebook the same lesson for the following term, ensuring continuity and progress tracking.

How is progress tracked through the Homeportal system? Throughout each term, our instructors meticulously assess all students based on the Power Forever Swim methodology. This progress is diligently recorded using their HomePortal mobile apps or online access. Clients can then access and review this data using their unique logins, ensuring transparency and accountability in their child’s swimming journey.

How should I prepare for swimming lessons in terms of nutrition? It’s advisable to treat swimming lessons like any other physical activity. Allow at least an hour between consuming a substantial meal and the start of the lesson (or 45 minutes for fluids/milk) to prevent cramping or discomfort. While light snacks are acceptable, it’s best to err on the side of caution. For parent & baby swimming lessons, it’s especially crucial to avoid feedings an hour before class to minimize the risk of burping or swallowing water.

Why is swimming beneficial for children with asthma? Swimming is uniquely advantageous for children with asthma as it rarely triggers asthma attacks. Moreover, it promotes overall physical and psychological well-being by increasing lung volume, enhancing breathing techniques, and improving fitness levels. The warm and moist environment of indoor pools is particularly conducive to asthmatic individuals, allowing them to enjoy aerobic exercise comfortably. It’s important, however, to always have asthma medication or inhalers on hand as a precautionary measure.

What are the long-term benefits of swimming for children with asthma? The health benefits of swimming extend beyond the pool, with continued improvements observed even a year after completing a swimming program. Not only does swimming serve as an excellent form of exercise, but it also contributes to sustained improvements in lung function and overall respiratory health for children with asthma.

Can I book a trial lesson? Yes, absolutely! You can easily book a trial lesson and make a one-time payment.

Partial Booking

Can I make a partial booking for less than the full term course? Yes, you can. However, please note that there is a minimum requirement of 6 lessons for any partial booking.

Is there a cancellation policy? Yes, there is. Details regarding our cancellation policy can be found in the terms and conditions outlined in the initial signup documents.

Is there a way to check my child’s swim progress? Certainly! We offer a convenient portal that grants parents or caregivers access to monitor their child’s progress.

What should my child wear to swim lessons? For babies, we recommend a double nappy setup, with a Happy Nappy worn on top. For toddlers who are potty trained, girls should wear a one-piece swimsuit, goggles, and our company swim cap, with the option of a rashie. Boys should opt for swim trunks, goggles, and our company swim cap, also with the option of a rashie. For children and adults alike, females should don a one-piece swimsuit, goggles, and our company swim cap, with the choice of a rashie. Males should opt for swim trunks, goggles, and our company swim cap (please refrain from wearing board shorts).
